THIS website has presently been setup by medical alumni (READ DOCTORS) of the Aga Khan University who are currently living in Europe. The Aga Khan University is one of the premier non-governmental educational establishments in Pakistan. With its growing overseas campuses it is also acquiring an international flavour. We hope that alumni of other departments (nursing, education and Islamic civilizations) will also join with medical alumni to make this website more useful and true representative of alumni of the Aga Khan University.
THE aim of this site is to connect those who are older and (hopefully!) wiser with those who are still going through the difficult early years. The information currently available on this site is for young doctors for whom passing the PLAB appears arduous, getting registered with the GMC seems impossible, and getting a job is but a distant dream! We hope that other alumni will also join us to take their young ones to the run way from where they can safely take off!!!
THE PAGES THAT APPEAR IN THIS WEBSITE ARE FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS, HOUSE OFFICERS, SENIOR HOUSE OFFICERS, REGISTRARS (INTERNS, RESIDENTS & INSTRUCTORS AT HOME) AND CONSULTANTS WITH AN INTEREST IN AKU AND THOSE WHO MAKE A MOVE TO THE UK.
WE want to provide a base of information for those alumni who have recently arrived in the UK or are thinking of making the move here. We are in the midst of creating a database of ARTICLES on issues of relevance to doctors trying to build a career in the UK.
